Application fees
Application fees for all electrical licence applications have been reviewed by the Board in 2018. Recommendations from this review were approved by the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and new fees were effective from 1 July 2018. The increase brings parity to Northern Territory licensing fees when compared with the rest of Australia. The Northern Territory still remains one of the less expensive jurisdictions in which to gain an electrical licence.
The prescribed fees are defined by revenue units. The monetary value of a revenue unit is calculated using Consumer Price Index data for Darwin, as set out in the Revenue Units Act 2009. The monetary value of the revenue unit is reviewed by government once a year, with any increase to take effect on 1 July each year.
The following fees, adjusted with CPI, are applicable from 1 July 2019.
